GNATS at Chehaw
At night, the Parks at Chehaw comes alive and is a great place to explore.

Chehaw’s Education Staff will guide you through an evening filled with live animal interactions and adventure. The night will include an animal presentation, games and activities, a trip to the zoo on our hay wagon, and storytelling around a campfire. A continental breakfast will greet you in the morning and then you will watch the keepers “wake up” the zoo. Come and experience what a good night you can have at the swamp.

Night Owls
During this nocturnal animal program, you can listen to the loud croak of the bullfrog and watch to see if the bats will come out and hunt. You can even become a nocturnal “hunter” with the assistance of our Education Staff. Walking around the zoo at night might just get you more in touch with all of your senses and even make you a night owl.
After a good night’s sleep and an energizing breakfast, we will go on an early morning behind-the-scenes tour of the Wild Animal Park to see how the other half (diurnal animals) live. Watch as our diurnal animals wake up to start a new day, and see what goes into taking care of them.
  S.O.S - Saving Other Species
Become a scientist during this look into endangered species. Discover why some species become threatened, endangered or even extinct while others live well and flourish. Learn what you can do to help, not only in other parts of the world, but also right here in South Georgia. After a good night’s sleep and an energizing breakfast, we will head to the zoo and take a closer look at some of theses animals. With the assistance of our Education Staff, you will have a chance to meet some of Chehaw’s endangered species. You can also help the keepers to make sure these animals are getting everything that they need to stay happy and healthy.
