Chehaw also has a program for those younger than 18 years of age who wish to volunteer. Junior Zookeepers are youth volunteers (13-17 years old) who are interested in volunteering as camp counselors, exhibit hosts, and animal care volunteers. This program is especially great for teens who are not only interested in animals, but those who may be interested in a career in Education. Junior Zookeepers will also participate in a short interview with a member of the Education Staff. Accepted applicants will be expected to attend these mandatory training dates, unless previously excused by Education staff.
